Executive Director of Hilliard House on changes at nonprofit
Beth Vann-Turnbull is the new executive director at Housing Families First, the newly named umbrella of services that includes Hilliard House. The eastern Henrico County organization began in 2001 as a 30-bed transitional housing facility for homeless women and their children in Henrico and Richmond.
Vann-Turnbull replaced Ross Altenbaugh, who left to be close to family in Flagstaff, Ariz., in November. Altenbaugh is now executive director at Flagstaff Shelter Services. The change in name from the Hilliard House to Housing Families First went into effect Nov. 11, and Vann-Turnbull started about two weeks later.
