A Successful Night at the Disco!
It’s not often that a night in January ends up so groovy, but that’s the feeling from our “A Night at the Disco” annual event. In addition to our sellout attendance, the event brought in a record amount of donations – over $106,000! More than $72,000 of that will go directly to helping families find a home – a $25,000 increase from last year.
This year’s event was packed to the brim. We hosted a VIP reception for our event’s biggest sponsors, a great way to start off the night and thank these partners for their generosity. And then it was time to head to the dance floor!
Over the course of the evening, attendees enjoyed sounds from Doc Branch Band, bidding on more than 35 silent auction packages, participating in Live Auction and Fund-A-Cause opportunities, as well as hustling to a fabulous DJ.
We also debuted two awards at this year’s event:
* One Night Makes All the Difference Award to Lariza and John Rife, supporters and tireless volunteers to the organization
*One Family Makes All the Difference Award to John and Susan Burton, donors who have been with Housing Families First through thick and thin
Our annual event isn’t just an opportunity to have fun, but to celebrate and strive for our big goals in the future. We believe that, with help from you and our partners, we can end family homelessness as we know it in Richmond. We can eliminate the waiting lists for shelter and permanent housing. It is through your support that we have been able to offer family housing programs that garner national attention. We are grateful for all our donors, volunteers, and community partners who are part of this new chapter in our history.

Thank you to our sponsors, generous donors, and valued guests. Here’s to next year!
